Dozens of experts, researchers, entrepreneurs and policymakers attended the Battery Science & Innovation Forum, which took place on 20 and 21 May at the INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory, in Braga (Portugal). 

The initiative, organised by CeNTI, INL, SPM – Sociedade Portuguesa de Materiais and dst group, provided space for the presentation and demonstration of innovative technologies and products, networking among the main players in the sector, and joint reflection of the present and future of batteries through lectures and thematic panel discussions.

Current energy storage solutions and their industrialisation, as well as the role of batteries in the energy transition, were some of the main topics discussed. Participants also had the opportunity to reflect on Portugal's contribution and its position at the heart of Europe's energy revolution.

Bringing science closer to industry, fostering knowledge and experience sharing, and promoting collaboration among experts across the entire battery value chain were the central objectives of this event.
