Projects

From April 21st to 23rd, CeNTI hosted the 2nd Monitoring Meeting and the 1st Review Meeting of the European Project DIEFI 2.

Reviewing the Project’s main developments and aligning the upcoming activities, paving the way for more efficient, traceable and intelligent production systems, were the main objectives of the initiative that brought together the Project partners at the Centre, in Vila Nova de Famalicão (Portugal).

The meeting, organised in collaboration with the Portuguese company Domoweb, also included representatives from the XECS Programme, who contributed to the strategic alignment of next steps, with a continued focus on delivering solutions with real industrial impact.

The DIEFI 2 Project aims to boost the digitalisation of food production processes, aligning with the principles of Industry 4.0, also known as Food 4.0.

The concept is being demonstrated in a real industrial setting at Meysu, a Turkish company specialised in bottling beverages (juices and soft drinks), where the process is complex, highly engineered, and demands advanced industrial automation.

A key element of the Project is the real-time monitoring of quality parameters through the development of a hybrid, plug-and-play system that can be seamlessly integrated into the production line, enabling continuous assessment of product quality.

The DIEFI 2 Project is supported by the XECS Programme of the Eureka Cluster, and by NORTE 2030 (the Northern Regional Programme), Portugal 2030, and the European Union
