On May 19, CeNTI celebrated its 19th anniversary. A significant milestone that recognises the work and dedication of all the People who have contributed to elevating CeNTI within the national and international technological innovation ecosystem.

To commemorate the date, the employees gathered for a celebration, a special occasion to strengthen bonds, proximity, and interaction among different teams.

With more than 200 researchers and strategically located in Northern Portugal, CeNTI is today a renowned innovation and technology centre. It’s important to highlight the Centre’s participation in more than 400 collaborative Projects with industry, academic institutions, and national and international organisations, and its active contribution to over 350 pre-competitive development contracts. In the scientific field, it has also been involved in more than 200 distinct fundamental research initiatives.

Focused on unlocking the economic potential of knowledge, the Centre conducts and promotes technological Research and Development (R&D), product engineering, and innovation activities in applied Nanotechnology, Advanced and Sustainable Materials and Smart Systems, aiming at technology transfer to the industrial ecosystem across multiple sectors.

Addressing emerging challenges, CeNTI has increasingly focused its technological capabilities towards the development of functional high-performance materials and disruptive solutions based on Sustainability and Bioeconomy, Energy and Decarbonisation, and Digital Transformation of Materials and Processes.

For the future, the Centre renews its commitment to keep innovating, boosting the competitiveness of the Portuguese industry at home and abroad.
