POWERr-OFF

Desenvolvimento de sistemas de armazenamento de energia modulares e sistemas de descarga total de baterias para reciclagem

The POWER-OFF project aims to develop modular energy storage systems designed according to ecodesign principles. The main objective is to promote the integration of second-life battery packs, as well as their simplified maintenance, eliminating the need to dismantle the packs and reorganise the modules.

In parallel, the project also seeks to develop Battery Management Systems (BMS) capable of identifying and acting individually on faulty modules, keeping the rest of the system running safely and efficiently. In addition, flexible and customised sensors will be developed to measure key parameters critical to fault detection and overall system safety. The data collected by these the sensors will be processed and used to create a digital platform for monitoring and diagnostics, enabling battery history tracking and assessment of system operational status.

The project also includes the development of systems for discharging batteries intended for recycling, promoting the integration of battery packs that no longer meet the required State of Health (SoH) or safety standards for second-life applications into a modular, controlled industrial discharge system, aiming the bulk preparation of batteries for recycling.
