CPVH

Smart and Integrable Concentrated Hybrid Photovoltaic Module for Day Night Building

The CPVH project aim to develop innovative concentrated solar modules with holographic lenses for building-integrated (BIPV) and building-applied (BAPV) photovoltaics.

The solution combines holographic lenses, high-efficiency perovskite solar cells and advanced thermal collectors, enabling the simultaneous generation of electricity and heat. It also features innovative thermal management and real-time smart monitoring via the Internet of Energy (IoE).

The system will be tested on building facades, to provide hot water, support indoor thermal regulation, reduce energy consumption, and ensure minimal visual and environmental impact.

Main Goals/Activities

  • Develop a modular, circular, and integrated solution of concentrated hybrid photovoltaic (PV) modules;
  • Combine, within a single system, electricity and heat generation, real-time monitoring, and battery thermal management;
  • Design selective solar concentrators using holographic lens technology;
  • Develop high-efficiency perovskite solar cells using sustainable precursors;
  • Engineer innovative thermal collectors with optimised geometry for water and space heating;
  • Develop and integrate miniaturised, flexible sensors directly into the PV modules;
  • Connect the entire system to the IoE, enabling real-time monitoring and decision-making;
  • Contribute to the decentralisation, decarbonisation, and digitalisation of energy in buildings.
