BASE FUNDING CTI

Base Public Funding for Centres for Technology and Innovation (CTI)

The Centres for Technology and Innovation (CTI) are entities dedicated to the production, dissemination and transmission of knowledge, oriented towards companies and the creation of economic value, contributing to the pursuit of public policy objectives, aligned with the priority areas of national or regional specialization where they operate.

CeNTI - Centre for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials, is one of the 26 entities recognized as a CTI and receives support from the Interface Mission under the framework of base public funding.

CeNTI is a reference Research and Technological Development Centre in Europe in the fields of Nanotechnology, Advanced Materials, and Smart Systems, positioning itself as a key technological enabler for a wide range of industrial sectors through the development of applied R&D activities, product engineering, and technology transfer to companies, aiming at the industrial endogenization of disruptive technologies using a B2B approach.

In close alignment with CeNTI's evolutionary philosophy and the Smart Specialization Strategies defined for Portugal and international guidelines (with a particular focus on Europe), a 3-year plan was structured, focusing on 3 thematic areas: "Energy and Decarbonisation"; "Sustainability and Bioeconomy"; and "Digital transformation of Materials and Processes".
