ILLIANCE

Intelligent, efficient, comfortable and sustainable buildings

With support of: -With support of

ILLIANCE Agenda addresses the carbon neutrality associated with buildings sector, through the design, development and industrialization of complementary technologies, based in 3 fundamental pillars: Health, Comfort and Sustainability. These innovative technologies are integrated into projects that embody the following vision: "Healthy, comfortable and sustainable buildings".

The proposed solutions in this Agenda aim to improve the energy efficiency, comfort and sustainability of buildings, through five strategic objectives:

  • Contributing to the dual digital and climate transition;
  • Improving the competitiveness of industrial processes;
  • Preparing for the energy transition through electrification and hydrogen;
  • Improving energy management in buildings, taking into account renewable dependencies;
  • Contribute to increasing the comfort, health, well-being and safety of people living in buildings.

The functional structure of ILLIANCE, developed in an integrated logic of specialization, focuses on the design, development, and industrialization of new technologies, in the field of electrification of the economy and

exploitation of sustainable and/or renewable electric energy (e.g. heat pumps); exploitation of green hydrogen as an energy source (e.g. hybrid equipment of H2 combustion); exploitation of new models and intelligent technological platforms for energy management; intelligent solutions for efficiency, functionalization and performance of building.

Main Goals/Activities

This Agenda is organized into five thematic Work Packages, in a comprehensive intervention plan that includes the entire value chain of habitat and building sector:

  • WP1 - Electric/renewable heating appliances;
  • WP2 - Hydrogen combustion appliances;
  • WP3 - Energy Management Iot Solutions and Platform;
  • WP4 - Passive, comfortable and healthy home solutions;
  • WP5 - Project Governance Model and Demonstrators.

The projects that compose the Agenda's Program, and are comprised in these WPs, contribute, in a holistic and integrated perspective, to developing nine main innovative macro products (PPS):

  • PPS1 - Heat pumps (WP1);
  • PPS2 - H2 combustion equipment for heating (WP2);
  • PPS3 -  Furnace for burning gas mixtures including H2 (WP2);
  • PP54 - Ultra-compact electronic equipment (WP3);
  • PPS5 - iNergy & iPpower (WP3, WP4);
  • PPS6 - I4roofs and Passive House Solutions (WP4);
  • PPS7 - OLI Health & Air2.0 (WP4);
  • PPS8 - Thick ceramic tiles (WP4);
  • PPS9 - Sensing home (WP4).

CeNTI plays a leading role in PPS5, PPS6, PPS9, coordinating 4 sub-projects and will be a key partner in achieving the objectives of WP3 and WP4. Specifically, CeNTI will play a key role in the development and prototyping of sensing and actuation systems, as well as some Human-Machine interaction (HMI), which will lead to intelligent models for energy-efficient and effective buildings, and highly autonomous.
