Decarbonisation, Sustainability and Digitalization: the themes for 2024

2023 was distinguished by technological innovation in various strategic sectors for Portugal, and 2024 will be no different. In this new year, CeNTI strengthens its commitment to creating disruptive solutions that allow companies to consolidate their positioning and increase competitiveness on a global scale. Energy and Decarbonisation, Sustainability and Bioeconomy, and Digital Transformation of Materials and Processes will be the key themes in 2024.

More than 30 Projects ended in 2023, focusing on several areas, namely health and well-being, automotive, construction, smart buildings and architecture, and also energy. With an active and dynamic role, CeNTI thought, designed and developed a vast set of solutions and products with added value. It was also a year highlighted by relevant events that allowed researchers to disseminate and share, across borders, innovations made in Portugal. Advanced Materials, Digital Transformations and Sustainability were the hot topics last year.

The next months will continue to be dedicated to innovation and knowledge and technology transfer in crucial areas such as Energy and Decarbonisation, Sustainability and Bioeconomy, and Digital Transformation of Materials and Processes. Recognized as a Technology and Innovation Centre (CTI), CeNTI participates in several Projects that seek, above all, to create materials, products and processes with high value and a positive and revolutionary impact on the business ecosystem.

Several Mobilising Agendas for Business Innovation are already underway that aim to catapult Portuguese innovation, boost the profitability of the national business ecosystem and respond to European and global challenges, such as promoting more efficient, sustainable and digital solutions. In addition to being present at fairs, conferences and thematic seminars, several initiatives will be organised, throughout the year, to disseminate and communicate the competences, technologies and results of the R&D activities.
